Hi, and welcome to my blog.

Here you can follow the development of the game engine Harmony and Rainbow Factory, the first game to use it. I will also share general development thoughts, ranging from game design to programming and art.

This is my first blog and English is not my native language, so please excuse any typos.

I will try to make at least biweekly updates here, but I hope to make it more than that.

So let’s kick this blog of with an introduction.

My name is Anton Stenmark, but my friends call me Tantor. I’m a computer programmer living in Stockholm, Sweden.

I started programming in the year 2000, and early I started dreaming of making video games. I began by teaching myself Object Pascal and in school i took classes in C++ and Java. At Luleå University of Technology things really took of and I learned Python, C#, PHP, GLSL and HLSL. At that point, it really didn’t matter what language I worked in anymore. What was important is the techniques I learned and the friends I made.

When we started working with graphics programming and shaders, I really felt like I had found my calling. In my opinion, graphics pragramming and shaders have the perfect mix of artistic qualities and the “purity” of math. It also gives you a higher understanding of how colors work, how we perceive them and how we can manipulate them.

Now I work at Arrowhead Game Studios, creators of Magicka and The Showdown Effect, and have been since the company was founded in 2009. Note that this is my personal website and nothing here is affiliated with Arrowhead in any way and that any opinions expressed are not representative of Arrowhead.

I love making games, learning new skills and sharing information with other passionate people.

I’m also a huge nerd and I absolutely adore the animated show “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” which is what caused me to start this blog in the first place.
